Additionally, we provide specialized coverage options such as renters, motorcycle, boat, and pet insurance. Q: What should I consider when choosing an insurance policy?

A:   Our top priority is to help get the customer the protection that will best protect their quality of life should they have to file a claim.  When choosing an insurance policy, consider the coverage limits, deductibles, premiums, and any additional riders or endorsements that may be beneficial.  We don’t want to be known for cheap insurance, but since we are an independent insurance agency, our aim is to remain competitive without compromising coverage.  Ask us about our Agency Standards.

Auto Insurance

Q: What does auto insurance cover?

A:   Please note that “full coverage” is truly hard to come by, because there is always a potential to have gaps in coverage.  Auto insurance typically covers liability for injuries and property damage, collision damage to your vehicle, comprehensive damage (such as theft or natural disasters), medical payments, and uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.  Don’t forget about the optional coverages such as Rental Car and Roadside Assistance.

Q: How can I lower my auto insurance premium?

A:   You can lower your auto insurance premium by maintaining a clean driving record, bundling policies, increasing your deductible, taking advantage of discounts, and driving a vehicle with safety features.  Be sure to ask about discounts!

Q: What is the difference between comprehensive and collision coverage?

A:   Comprehensive coverage pays for damage to your vehicle from non-collision incidents such as theft, vandalism, or hitting a deer. Collision coverage pays for damage to your vehicle resulting from a collision with another vehicle or object.

Home Insurance

Q: What does home insurance cover?

A:   Home insurance typically covers damage to your home and personal property from perils such as fire, theft, wind and hail. It also provides liability protection and additional living expenses if your home becomes uninhabitable.  All home insurance policies are not designed the same.  For example, you may wish to have Replacement Cost Value and your policy happens to be Actual Cash Value.

Q: Do I need home insurance if I own my home outright?

A:   While not legally required, home insurance is highly recommended to protect your investment and provide financial security against unexpected events that could cause significant damage or loss.

Q: How is the cost of home insurance determined?

A:   The cost of home insurance is determined by factors such as the location, age, and construction of your home, the coverage limits, deductible amount, and your claims history.  Labor costs, building materials costs and social inflation also impact insurance rates.

Life Insurance

Q: What types of life insurance do you offer?

A:   We offer term life, whole life, and variation of others. Each type has different features and benefits, allowing you to choose the best option for your financial goals and needs.  The best policy is the one that is in force when you and your family needs it.

Q: How much life insurance do I need?

A:   The amount of life insurance you need depends on your financial obligations, such as debts, mortgage, education expenses for dependents, and future income replacement. An agent can help you calculate the appropriate coverage.  Please note there are also living benefits to life insurance and not just proceeds from a claim after someone passes away unexpectedly.

Q: What is the difference between term life and whole life insurance?

A:   Term life insurance provides coverage for a specified period, while whole life insurance offers lifelong coverage and includes a savings component that accumulates cash value over time as long as the premiums are paid.

Business Insurance

Q: What types of business insurance do you offer?

A:   We offer a comprehensive range of business insurance policies, including general liability, commercial property, workers’ compensation, professional liability, and cyber liability. We also provide specialized coverage for various industries.

Q: Why do I need business insurance?

A:   Business insurance protects your company from financial losses due to accidents, lawsuits, and other unforeseen events. It ensures your business can continue operating and covers costs associated with property damage, legal claims, and employee injuries.  Keep in mind, we are the most litigious society, and there is no upper limit on claims that result in judgements.

Q: How is the cost of business insurance determined?

A:   The cost of business insurance is determined by factors such as the type of business, its location, the number of employees, the coverage limits, and the industry’s risk level. An agent can provide a detailed quote based on your specific needs.  For example, a casual dining restaurant will have different risk factors than a professional real estate firm.

Q: What is business interruption insurance?

A:   Business interruption insurance covers lost income and operating expenses if your business is temporarily unable to operate due to a covered event, such as a tornado or fire. This helps ensure your business can recover and resume operations.

Q: How do I file an insurance claim?

A:   To file a claim, we recommend contacting our office. We are not claims professionals but we have discovered that many times, a brief conversation with us can help determine if a claim should actually be filed with the Carrier.  Provide all necessary information and documentation related to the claim. Our agents are available to guide you through the process. If it is a 911 emergency and a threat to safety or life, contact the proper authorities.

Q: How long does it take to process a claim?

A:   The time to process a claim varies depending on the type and complexity of the claim. Once the initial claim is filed, you will be assigned to a claims representative directly with the insurance company.

Q: What should I do in case of an accident or emergency?

A:   In case of an accident or emergency, ensure your safety and the safety of others first. Contact the appropriate authorities if necessary. Then, contact our office as soon as possible to report the incident and start the claims process.

Q: What discounts are available for insurance policies?

A:   Insurance carriers may offer a variety of discounts, including multi-policy discounts, safe driver discounts, home security discounts, and more. Speak with an agent to see which discounts you qualify for.

Q: How can I bundle my insurance policies?

A:   Bundling policies involves purchasing multiple types of insurance (such as auto and home) from our agency. This often results in a discount on your premiums. Contact an agent to discuss bundling options.
